To remove any debris, simply use water on the cast plaque and dry it off. Never use cleansers on bronze.
You can use a sander (fine-to-medium grit) or even Scotch-brite® to remove the oxidization. Be sure not to leave any finger prints (oils).
Then you can finish with a urethane finish. You may want to use several coats. Be sure to
remove all sanding residue prior to spraying (ex. with a brush).
Note that cast plaques that are horizontal to the ground will tarnish more quickly because rain water pools in them. |
